The Shams 1 solar power station is located 120km southwest of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This $600 million estimated value project is the first solar farm in the Middle East and the largest concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in the world. The electricity generated by Shams 1 is sufficient to power 62000 homes.

In this project IEG Intallations LTD was responsible for checking the correct assembly of the insulation, piping, instrumentation, stacks, heaters and pre-heaters.
